Happy Un-birthday

Today Ashlee's preschool celebrated her un-birthday.  She was very excited and told us it was her un-birthday when she woke up.
Besides celebrating their birthday at her preschool, they get spotlighted for the week so we made a poster about her.  Ms Heidi gave her a hat and a present (Ashlee was trilled to be receiving a present on her un-birthday), and we took treats.
She helped me make snow cone cupcakes from the Family Fun magazine.  They were cute and a big hit.  The kids ate the cupcakes with the little spoon-straws, so they weren't even messy!
Happy un-birthday to Ashlee!

It's Raining!!!

It is raining tonight and I LOVE it.  We haven't had much rain at all this past year and the girls almost never get to use their umbrellas.
Who cares that it was chilly, who cares that they were already in their pajamas.....we have to enjoy the rain when it comes!

But one little lady DOES care when she hears thunder.  It was straight inside after that, it terrifies her.
They did get 5 or 10 minutes of good rain play time in.  Maybe it will continue tomorrow, we can keep our fingers crossed.

6 Months

Our little lady is 6 months old!
It is hard to believe in some ways, and in other ways it is hard to remember what we were like before she joined our family.
She is a sweet little girl and we love everything about her!

  • She doesn't cry to much, but starts screaming when she gets tired (I say to her, "who are you screaming at").
  • We started baby food this week and she hates it.  We have tried baby rice, avocado, and banana and she hates them all.  She does like ice in the little net baby food holder.
  • She can sit up for up to nearly a minute by herself.
  • She LOVES the alphabet spinning toy.
  • She will roll all over the floor to get to what she wants to play with.
  • She takes an awesome 2-3 hr nap in the afternoon and a shorter one in the morning.
  • She loves to watch her sisters.
  • She doesn't laugh on cue, but it is so cute when her laughs come.
  • She wears size 2 diapers and 3-6month clothes still.
  • She goes to bed at 7 and wakes once to feed during the night.
  • She likes to have a toy to play with and put in her mouth.
  • She may be shy- we will have to wait and see.
  • Her eyes seem to be changing color- again, we will have to wait and see
  • She responds to her name.

She usually has something in her mouth.

Practicing sitting up, and her head looks huge at this angle!
Playing with her toy (and she was screaming at it).
Wearing a sweater and hat Grandma Will knitted.
We don't want our little Molly to grow up to fast, but we do love the phase she is starting into.  It is fun to be able to interact with her more.

Grandma Berta visits

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Grandma Berta this week for a couple of days.
We mostly just did our regular things, but they were all more fun because she was here!
We also went to the mall, had a tea party with real English scones, and worked on some sewing things.

My friend Erica came over with her 2 girls one afternoon also. We grew up together in Laramie, then they moved down by my parents a couple of years ago, and just moved up by us this summer.  So it was nice for my Mom to get to see them up here.  Molly and Brylen were sitting on my Mom's lap and Molly started holding Brylen's hand, it was very cute.

Reading a book before bed.  Caitlin was pretty tired I think.
We didn't take many pictures, but we sure had a fun time!!

The Hat

We got the cutest little dress when Caitlin was little from G & G Will.  (I believe from somewhere in Scottsdale, Arizona).  Anyway, since Molly was born in the winter she is kind of off the season for being able to wear it.  But she wore it last week so she could at least wear it once before it gets to small.

Caitlin and Ashlee in the dress (we didn't take a pic of Molly in it)

We do, however, have pictures of all the girls wearing the hat.

Sitting

We have been practicing sitting up for the past couple of weeks, and Molly is getting pretty good at it now!

New School Year!

The first day of school has come and gone, as has the 2nd, 3rd and 4th and we are all getting adjusted to the new school year.  Which is why I am late posting our first day of school pictures (which were really taken on the 1st day)
Caitlin's first day of 1st Grade!!!
This picture was to sunny for her and she didn't like it!
She has enjoyed school so far.  She especially loves Music, Library, P.E., and Art.  She is adjusting to 1 less recess, less play time and a lot more learning.  In fact tonight she was in tears because of "all the work she has."  She has only had 2 simple books to read and some words to practice but it is just all overwhelming and more intense then Kindergarten.  It will just take some time....

Ashlee's first day of pre-school!!!
I love her little clog shoes!
Her preschool is called "Super-stars Pre-school" and she loves it and her teacher Ms Heidi.  It is twice a week and makes her thoroughly exhausted, but she loves every second.

And Tuesday was Molly's first day sitting in her high chair.  We are prepping for starting real food very soon.  She seemed to be pretty happy to be sitting in such a tall chair and watch me make dinner, although she was tired of it by the time we actually sat down to eat.

Here she was on Sunday.  We are practicing sitting up, but she is leaning against the couch in this picture.  She can only sit up for a few seconds at a time right now.
