Dress-ups?!?!

Molly has previously been a hater of dress-ups.
She would cry if I even tried to put one one her.
But now she is older, and a little wiser, and has decided that maybe dress-ups aren't so bad after all.
She loves to play with Caitlin and Ashlee, so she is happy to play dress-ups with them!
This was a dress-up dance party.

Kindergarten Pow Wow

The kindergarten classes performed Native American songs last Friday for their parents.
Ashlee was so excited about it and would sing the songs at home for us all the time.

Afterward they went to the cafeteria to have a healthy feast of fruit, corn bread and cheese.

After school at the library

The girls have been doing after school reading at their school for the past 2 weeks. Some kids from the Junior High come and read to them. They think its fun, all are happy.
Yesterday when that ended we went straight to the library were Clifford the Big Red Dog was making an appearance for love of reading week.
There were a TON of kids but it was fun. They got dog ears, a stick puppet, a book of their choice, and a snack.
I am glad that we love reading all the time at our house, not just during love of reading week.

Family Weekend

We headed to Colorado after school on Friday for a quick family weekend including pictures and dinner with the whole Quinby family (except we missed seeing Aaron).
It was a quick trip for us because we had to drive back home Saturday evening so Chris could be here for church on Sunday. Even though it was quick, it was fun and we were glad to be able to see so much family.

Saturday morning the girls played outside in the backyard.

Then it was family picture time at the sculpture park (and it was nice weather which is a huge plus).
I can't wait to see how they all turned out! The lady who took them does a great job.
These were just a few candid shots from me.

Chris' Aunt Gigi is the girls FAVORITE person. They just love every second they get to play with her. We just wish that Maine wasn't so far away!

The pictures were getting close to lunch and nap time, but Molly did really well. She loves to be outside and walking around. She didn't always like to have her picture taken, but hopefully a few turned out.

Back at Grandma and Grandpa's house the kids played, read books, and acted like turkeys until it was time to eat the turkey.
And, I hate to say we ate and ran, but we did. As soon as the pie was gone, so were we (it was delicious).
I never got a picture of the whole group, but we will have one from the photographer.

My Best Helper

The other day was laundry day and Molly pulled a pair of panties out of the basket and wanted me to put them on her.
Well, truth be told, it was actually 2 pair. She was insistent and I complied.

Doesn't everyone stand on the toilet in their underwear to floss their teeth?
This girl is obsessed with dental floss.
(which reminded me of when Ashlee was little and and she flossed her teeth for the first time after we had hotdogs for dinner, so we asked her if she had hotdogs in her teeth. So then, anytime she flossed her teeth, she would say "Mom I need some floss, I have hotdogs in my teeth")

And the other day (a different "other" then the above laundry day), we ground wheat, popcorn, and made pancake mix. Molly was my best helper. She loved pouring things into the grinder and tasting the pancake mix. It is a much cleaner job without her, but not as much fun.

Veteran's Day

Yesterday evening the 2nd graders from Westridge performed a Veteran's Day program for their parents.
They have been working all year on the patriotic songs.
Caitlin got picked to give a speaking part, she did a great job!!

One of the lights was burned out, so Caitlin's class stood in the dark......literally.

Can you see those kids standing in the dark over on the right side? That's her class. You can just make out Caitlin's white sweater there on the very end.

This is Caitlin's class. Chris had flashbacks of himself in elementary as he has a clone there on the left side.

2 of Caitlin's good friends, Ella and Camden.

Time Out

I flew down to Arizona this past weekend to have a weekend with my sister, Annie, and my mom. Sadly my dad ended up with a kidney stone and my mom couldn't make it.

Friday night and Saturday we went to Time Out For Women.
It was wonderful both days, great speakers and music.
There were 5500 women in attendance, the largest TOFW ever.

Friday night we stayed in a hotel, and Saturday we went to the temple after TOFW was over.
Sunday we hung out at Annie's house, went to church, on a walk and visited our cousin Tiffany and her family.
I was sad my mom couldn't make it, but glad to get to spend some time with Annie.

School HoeDown

The PTO at our elementary school does 1 family night each quarter. Tonight was a hoedown, and the girls were so excited about it. And, it turned out soooooo fun.

The gym was set up for dancing and they had a DJ and everything.
The girls loved dancing, especially Caitlin.
It was so dark, so these pictures aren't good, but oh well.
Ashlee (and Molly in the fore ground)
Caitlin
Caitlin and a couple of her friends.

They had a photo area with costumes.
(I love Ashlee's "oh so natural smile" in most pictures)

And a few other activities and crafts.

And pie (please excuse the food in Ashlee's mouth :) )

The majority of the time we spent in the gym dancing. Chris and I even danced with the girls from time to time. It was a fun night!

Playing Catch

A couple of weeks ago Chris had his football out during the Bronco's game.
He started playing catch with Molly, and we were surprised at how well she could catch the ball.

Fall Visitors

Over the weekend Grandma and Grandpa Will and Gavin (our only Will cousin) came to visit!
It was Gavin's first trip out to our house and the girls were so excited.
I only took 2 pictures the whole weekend.
The got binoculars and went outside exploring.

I had to include this one because Molly is trying to use them the correct way :)
We had a fun weekend playing inside and out.
And we made our annual applesauce!
It was a fun weekend.

The kids also had glow sticks one night and there were some left over.
So last night the girls played with them in the bathroom and then turned all the lights out downstairs and played with them some more.

Actual Halloween

Halloween Day turned out to be so busy with school, school parties, I worked half of the day, a party at Chris' work right after school, trunk-or-treat and trick-or-treating.
Needless to say, we didn't get any very good pictures. So I'm glad a got a few before the ward party last week.

The day was FREEZING COLD. The wind was blowing so hard. So everything outside was freezing.
But, the girls still enjoyed themselves.
Before trunk-or-treating with Caitlin's friend, Camden.

Molly trying to get warm in the back of the van with her elephant friend, Crew, during the trunk-or-treating.
She loved carrying her pumpkin and getting treats in it. She would hold out her hand and get the candy in her hand and then put it into the pumpkin.
