Visiting G.Garrett and camping

After going to the Ogden Temple open house, we drove up to Logan to spend the afternoon with my Grandma Garrett. We sure love going to visit her! She fed us a delicious lunch and we played and talked and then said goodbye so we could go over the mountain and camp at Bear Lake for a few days.

We had never been camping a Bear Lake and we had to much fun. We did normal camping things, and spent once whole day at one of the Lake beaches swimming and playing in the sand and water. We are definitely going to have to go camping there again!

Ogden Temple Open House

We were excited to be able to go to the Ogden Temple open house. The temple is so beautiful, inside and out. Ashlee kept telling me she loved the lanterns (I informed her they are called chandeliers).
Molly loved the velvety texture of one of the chairs and rubbed her check over and over it, and she laid right down on the carpet in the Celestial Room because she thought it was so soft and plush (yeah, I'm sure they loved us touching everything).

Ashlee's 6th Birthday

Today Ashlee turned 6 six years old!
That means we've lived in Rock Springs nearly six years, as we moved here when she was 3 weeks old.
So was so excited for her birthday!
 She loved her gifts.

Pictures aren't Ashlee's favorite thing, so they are always a struggle to get even a couple.

For her birthday see wanted to go up to the college and watch a movie projected really big on their screen (like a movie theater, but free!)
She invited a few friends to enjoy the movie with her. They each had popcorn, drinks and candy and watched The Lego movie.
we love the Smith kids!

For dinner she wanted a burrito, so we made them Cafe Rio style. And she loved them!
And her chocolate cake with Oreo filling was delicious!!!

Happy birthday Ashlee! We sure love you.

You love;
playing with your sisters
making new friends
swimming!
tomatoes
playing games on the computer or I-Pad
your bunny
watching movies
riding your bike (but not going on long bike rides!)
wearing skirts/dresses

Chopped

We watched a few episodes of chopped at our house, and the girls were hooked.
They played it with their play food over and over again.
Until today, when we let them play Chopped with real food.
They were so excited.
The basket ingredients were: cooked chick peas, watermelon, pretzel sticks, and cheese stick. And they were able to use the items in the pantry.

They thought it was so fun.
And in the end, Caitlin was chopped and Ashlee won.

Sewing Camp

While Chris and I were on our date in Salt Lake, Grandma Berta had sewing camp with Caitlin.
She practiced sewing lines and getting familiar with the sewing machine first, and then she sewed a skirt!
She did a great job and her skirt turned out fantastic. She really sewed it well.
