Jazz Band Concert

The jazz band at WWCC was a little short on musicians this year, so Chris is playing trombone with them. They had their first concert last night and we were there.

They played in the atrium, and it was pretty watching the sun set behind them.
Chris is one of 3 trombones, and he did great!

Afterward all the girls tried playing his trombone, and they all made sound!

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we went to our friends, the Peck's, house to carve our pumpkins.
Caitlin and Ashlee each carved their own with little to no help.

Jessica is one of the craftiest people I know, and she put everyone's faced in creepy pictures before we went.
(I didn't even recognize my own face.)
We also had pizza and delicious candy apply bar!

We ended up having to leave before the "lighting" because a certain 2 year old wet her pants.
So we went home and lit them.
They turned out great! Caitlin's is on the left, Ashlee's is on the right.

Ward Halloween Party

Last night was our ward's Halloween Party. We had chili and lots of carnival games for the kids. It was a lot of fun!
They girls were so excited to get dressed up!
Ashlee is Dorothy, Molly ended up being Cinderella, and Caitlin is a 50's girl.

The greatest lady, from a different ward, came to do the face painting. She was amazing and the kids LOVED it! (Thanks Brittany!)

Costume try on

Today all the girls tried on their Halloween costumes, and we found out Molly DOES NOT want to be a clown.

She really does not, at all!
I'm glad we snapped a picture with her in it. And now we will find something in the dress-ups for her to be,

Witch Party

One of my friends hosted a witches party last night.
It was fun to get dressing up like a witch and have a night out, with just other mom's.
Caitlin took a picture of me, and Molly said, "Mom, you look scary. You look like Halloween."
(Chris was out of town, so the girls had a babysitter and as I was walking out the door Molly started choking on a roll. I ran back in and the babysitter was patting hard on her back and she was spitting out the entire roll. I'm sure Hannah was really happy to be babysitting :) )
Everyone at the party.
Me with Hilary Brewster and Natalie Powell.

FHE treats

The girls love FHE and have really embraced having an assignment every week.
Of course, they love being in charge of the treat the most!
One week this month we had caramel apples on VERY LONG sticks.

And Ashlee was so proud of her candy corn inspired fruit cups another week! She did all the assembly work herself!

Soccer

Caitlin and Ashlee are going soccer again this fall, and are showing lots of improvement.

Ashlee missed the cutoff for U6 by 7 days, so she is still a head taller then everyone else.
She has scored a goal in every game so far this year!
Ashlee's favorite part of the game is when she is out and can "chat".

Caitlin is on U10 this year and is really learning and growing a lot. She is getting a little faster every game and is doing great.

Fieldtrip

Yesterday was a 3rd grade field trip to Seeskadee National Wildlife Refuge and I got to tag along!
Seeskadee is only 50 miles from here, but I had never even heard of it.
It was a fun field trip, and the staff was very prepared for all the kids!
Caitlin and her friend, Lola (who we are so glad is at her school and in her class this year!)
