A few more things from January

Grandma Will sent the girls jackets for their dolls that she knitted. She is one talented lady!

Caitlin and Ashlee had pacers in gym class (I called them killers when I was growing up)
They could wear bandannas for the pacers, so they each bought one at the store with their own money.
They were beyond excited about the whole thing.

They had another tea party for snack. (this is the cute tea set that Ashlee got for Christmas)
No tea party is complete unless you dress-up.
At Christmas my Mom taught them that there should be a hostess at every tea party. So they take turns hosting. It is the hosts job to pick topics to talk about during the party, and to keep the conversation going. They do a good job, it is hilarious.

sick

We, of course, have had to have plenty of sickness since Chris left.
2 nights after he left, Ashlee was up most of the night with a terrible ear ache. She had a bad ear infection.
While we were heading into the pharmacy to get her prescription, she saw a rainbow. Pretty unusual for January!

The next week we suffered through Molly throwing up, then Ashlee (at a friends house, ahhhh), then Caitlin, then Molly again. And Chris having to go to the ER in Moscow for kidney stones! It was a nightmare of a week. We are happy we are all healthy now, but feel bad that Chris is still suffering with his stones. He will have them removed later this week.

Labor Night

Western Wyoming had Labor Night last night. Its basically a basketball game sponsored by a company in town. The girls and boys game at free and they serve free food.
Free is good, so we were all there!
We had hot dogs, soda, popcorn, and candy.
Typical stubborn and moody Molly.

We all did our nails earlier that day thanks to Jamberry.

The girls took pictures of each other on my phone.

bags

I got some canvas like material from my mom at Christmas, so I made bags for each of the girls.
A new church bag for Ashlee-
and Molly-

And a piano bag for Caitlin.

Life at home with a 2 year old

This two year old of ours is full of energy and mischief and fun and trouble and excitement and tantrums and laughter and wildness (as most two year olds are). We sure love her, she keeps us on our toes.

This is pretty much how the house looks nearly everyday as she plays.
All the play food out all over, usually with dolls and chairs as well.
Books dumped out as she looks at thiem.
Toys up and down the stairs.
Things out all over her bedroom. It drives Caitlin and Ashlee crazy because they often have to clean up her messes, although they have no idea how much I clean up on a daily basis!

She was so proud of her "tower"

She loves playing dress-up.

She is just so cute! And getting so big and growing up.

Chris' sabbatical

Chris is on sabbatical this semester.
He is finishing a second master's degree in Directing from the University of Idaho.
So he will be in Moscow, ID all semester, and we will be in Rock Springs- sad.
He loaded up his car and left Sunday afternoon. It was a sad day with lots of tears. I'm sure the time will go by quickly, but it is daunting at this point. 18 weeks, here we go......

One of the first days he was gone, we had a tea party for snack. The girls think I am a fun mom when we do things like this.

And one day we did lots of puzzles.

first basketball game

Caitlin started basketball on Monday, and had her first game last night.
She loves it and has already learned a ton, but none of the girls have very much skill at this point.
I'm sure she will improve every week. And she is having so much fun.

Butterfly Wonderland

On the first of the year we were still at Annie's house. There are too many good football games on to waste the day driving home! Not to mention, we love hanging out with Annie! In the morning we decided to go to the Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale. It was pricey, but we had a great time.

First was a 3-D movie. Molly watched the entire thing without her glasses on, she did not like the glasses.

Then to the hatching room. They had real butterflies in chrysalis and some were hatching (probably not the right word). Each day they let the new butterflies out into the butterfly world, so any butterfly we saw in the case was new that day. It was an incredible thing to see.

Then out into the butterfly wonderland area. There were butterflies everywhere. We spent an hour or so walking around and looking at them all.

The butterflies were landing on all of us, except Ashlee. She wanted one to land on her SOOO bad.
One landed right by her shoes and we made a huge deal about it because it was touching her......sort of.

Towards the end a nice lady who works there gave Ashlee at sugared brush for Ashlee to hold, and a butterfly landed on it. She was SO HAPPY!
And Annie took a picture at the exact moment a butterfly was flying in front of her, which looked like it was on her head. HaHa.
And then one landed on the jacket she was holding!! She was one happy girl.
