Sporting new jammers

We got a package in the mail today. Hooray, hooray, we love the excitement. Caitlin and Ashlee received new pajamas from their Grandma and Grandpa Will (thanks!!!).

I think this is the first ever picture we have of the girls standing side by side.

Caitlin is actually picking Ashlee up of the ground, although it looks as though Ashlee's foot may be touching the floor- it's not. This is a great feat for the older sister :)

Splash Park

We made our first trip of the season to the Green River splash park today.

Excitingly, Caitlin loved it this year and actually got wet.

Ashlee had no interest in the water whatsoever. Chris tried to "encourage" her, but she wanted no part of that.

She was content to sit by mom and dad on the blanket, or play on the playground.

We now have all the necessary equipment to go on a family bike ride.

Now we just have to wait for the wind to calm down a bit, because I am not willing to ride in 25-30mph winds.

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day we headed east to Colorado. We went with some friends, the Smith's, and stayed in Chris's parent's cabin. We had tons of fun, and soaked up every bit of sun and warmth we could because it was MUCH nicer than any weather we have seen at home yet this year.


We loaded up Friday morning, and came home Monday afternoon. We could all fit in the Smith's car, so we did- thanks for driving! It was a roomier ride on the way home when Chris figured out that 3 car seats did indeed fit in the back seat.

played kiddie baseball

and watched some real baseball! Thanks to Dad Will for the hats and tickets!!!

The Rockies played the Dodgers and won! The kids loved singing "take me out to the ball game" best of all.

we went on lots of walks.......

but sometimes we rode instead of walking

I fished for 5 minutes and got the line tangled..................twice.
But at least I didn't throw the pole into the water..................this time.

We had a really fun time and came home exhausted.

And that is the longest post I have ever made and now I'm exhausted.

a few from our week

It seems we haven't been doing anything too exciting lately, but here are a few pictures of what has been going on.

Graduation was Friday night. We are officially on summer break now! (and yesterday Chris was already feeling bored).

I know we need to iron his robe- so embarrassing that I let him attend graduation with the fold lines still in it this year...............and last year. All faculty are required to attend graduation each year; it is a nice time for him to say goodbye to his students. The picture doesn't show the fact that his hood is actually pink and purple :)

Ashlee feel asleep on the couch beside Chris on Sunday. That never happens, but Sundays are so hard and she gets so tired. Curses to 1 o'clock church.


The girls love this game. And until recently, Ashlee was always the rider and Caitlin the pusher. Now they can both enjoy the excitement.

a retirement

One of Chris's co-worker's retired this year. Deirdre was the dance instructor and Chris learned so much from her. She was a great mentor and colleague to Chris in his first two years of teaching, especially in the dance classes he taught because he is no expert in dance. He will miss her a lot.

White Mountain

White Mountain is a large "land mass" behind our house, although I would call it more of a plateau than a mountain. Last night we joined up with some friends at the top to roast smores. We made it to the top safely (even though it was so steep at times I thought our car may not make it) and we had a lot of fun.

White Mountain is actually huge, land wise, and there is a herd of wild horse that live there. There are about 1000 horses, but we only saw 5, and that was from a distance.

The kids enjoyed some 4-wheeler rides (they actually are very safe on the 4-wheelers, this just happened to be a rescue mission. these 4 little ones had explored pretty far away)

Planning Summer

Chris has started administering finals, and graduation is next Friday, so he is in full summer mode.

This morning he put sunscreen on the girls and said "it smells like summer", as he has been know to say.

This afternoon they made a "summer list". All the things they want to do in the summer. Caitlin suggested things like swim, read books, go to the park. And Ashlee suggested "wing" (swing) and "wok" (walk) which was something she wanted to do right then, so now they are on a walk.

p.s.s. our snow only lasted 3/4 of the day, and we have had decent weather since. Hooray for that.

Off to the Ball

Our stake held it's annual Green and Gold Ball on Saturday. Chris and I got dressed up and went with a couple of our friends.

It said "best dressed", but I'm pretty sure Chris was the ONLY one wearing a tux. Oh well, I guess that just made us the "best" best dressed :)

We had a fun time, we haven't had a lot of opportunities to dance together since we were married.
