teenie weenie

It really isn't just the angle of the photo, this girl has tiny feet.
Size 2 just slide right off.
Strange for a girl of her stature.
Once she starts walking I'm sure she will have impeccable balance. One would have to with feet so small.
Even small, they are cute little baby feet.

anyone for swimming?

We joined Chris in Utah for a few days last week during his dance tour. We don't love staying in a hotel with 2 small girls, but it was great to be together, and the biggest perk was the hotel pool!

This was Ashlee's first ever swimming excursion. How did she like it?
1st day: very timid, tense, scared, unsure- it is much larger than the bathtub after all.
2nd day: a splashing queen
My guess is she is up for swimming again.

the new park

Because of the great weather we are having this week, we decided to try out a new park yesterday with some friends. The park has wonderful potential, but it is not fully completed yet. There are swings- which Ashlee liked, rocking dolphins and dinosaurs- which Caitlin liked, and a little climbing wall that neither liked. And hopefully they will add more toys later.

After about 10 minutes we headed home to play with our toys in the driveway instead. Ashlee had her first ride in the push car.

Being a safe driver and checking for cars behind her before she pulls out

Free Day

Western Wyoming (Chris's school) has free day once a year. They do lots of different activities all over the school for the entire morning and it is all free to the community. Chris taught a Jazz class, that would have been better attended if it weren't slotted for the same time as the cheerleading clinic. The whole day was a lot of fun. Here were a few of the activities:
face painting

cake walk (luckily the prize was just a cookie and not the whole cake)

Mustang mascot
this is how Ashlee saw the day
a stop by the nursing school clinicals room. Caitlin loves to play nurse, so I wanted to show her some nursing stuff, but stopping there proved to be more profitable for me. I found out that there is somewhere in town that does administer chemotherapy and they are always looking for nurses and it is PRN. Yippee!
Bowling with potatoes
And waiting in line for free lunch.
We finished the day watching the dance show. Chris choreographed a number and it was great.

April Showers....

...bring May flowers. So what does April snow bring? Lots and lots of April snow?

We have had more snow since spring started than all winter. This was our yard on Thursday as we were dumped on by yet another storm

Luckily it has now mostly melted and it is suppose to be beautiful weather next week, we will keep our fingers crossed anyway. Hopefully all these snow showers will bring bigger and more beautiful flowers.

flowers

We made flowers for a spring time touch in our home. I should say I made flowers, Caitlin played with the buttons and cut unused paper and Ashlee watched. They were fun and easy though, just out of old magazine pages.

Happy Easter

Posted by Picasa
We returned from a wonderfully fun trip to Colorado this afternoon. Among other things we played "nurse", dyed eggs and played with family.

Easter eggs

We dyed some eggs yesterday. Caitlin thought it was so fun. Chris and I each dyed one or two, but we just really had fun watching her. And she couldn't wait to put the eyes and smiles on after they dried.

She is so proud of these smiley creations.

We are heading to Colorado tomorrow to spend the holiday with Chris's parents!

Haircut

This was Caitlin on Sunday. I have been toying with the idea of growing out Caitlin's bangs. Her bangs have been pulled back in other hairstyles, but this was the first day like this.
Chris just kept saying, "What is wrong with her forehead?"
Finally he realized that her bangs were pulled back. It doesn't look too bad in the picture, but we decided that she needs bangs because her face is just so pale.
So....
This is Caitlin today with a bang and hair trim. Someday we will be adventurous and try something different, but back to the same for now.

Enjoying Monday Sun

It was a beautiful Monday today. The weather turned nice again after our past 2 weeks of snow and cold. This afternoon we could be found outside doing this

or this

or pulling a few weeds, or admiring bits of green here and there amongst our perennials. Spring comes a bit late in Wyoming, but we are sure excited to see signs of it.

Weekend

We enjoyed conference over the weekend, and a weekend home- together. Well, almost together. Chris had rehearsal for about 3 or 4 hours on Saturday, but otherwise home together.

I made some cards as we watched conference, and Caitlin did some cutting. She likes to cut paper with my fancy scissors while I work on cards. It was nice to know that Caitlin was paying some attention to conference, she would say things like:

"Mom, he just said 'Jesus Christ' ", he said 'baptism', he said 'loving family', he said 'President Monson', etc, etc....

It was pretty entertaining, and I'm glad that she recognizes some of these things.

And now back to the grind of the week.

A Will cousin

There is a new addition to the Will family!

Congratulations Nate and Amy on the birth of your beautiful son.

He was born yesterday afternoon, in the San Franscisco area. We can't wait until June to be able to go out and see him.

sweet deals yesterday

Yesterday was a sweet day. Besides the normal things that happen everyday, I found huggies Pull-ups at the store for $5. A 40 pack for $5! A very sweet deal since we still need them for Caitlin, and I bought a lot so extras can wait for Ashlee.

And, the best thing of the day..........

A new piano! We happen to have some friends who wanted to get rid of their piano, so we happily took it off of their hands. We are so excited to have our own piano in our own home! We both like to play, and I grew up always having piano lessons and with the piano a very important part of our home, so we are pumped to finally have one. And it was a donation to us- totally free. Another sweet deal.
