Halloween

The girls didn't have school on Halloween Day (because we have nearly every other Friday off), so they had their parties on the 30th.
I went in and helped with Caitlin's class party.
Here are all the girls in her class.

Halloween Day was a beautiful day, so nice and warm!
We went to the trunk-or-treat at the church, and then to 1 fire station. After that we called it a night.
The girls had a great time, and we actually didn't end up with to much candy. Miracles do happen.
This is the only picture I took of Halloween day. The girls with Lola and Timmy Philo at the trunk-or-treat.

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we went to our friends, the Peck's, house to carve our pumpkins.
Caitlin and Ashlee each carved their own with little to no help.

Jessica is one of the craftiest people I know, and she put everyone's faced in creepy pictures before we went.
(I didn't even recognize my own face.)
We also had pizza and delicious candy apply bar!

We ended up having to leave before the "lighting" because a certain 2 year old wet her pants.
So we went home and lit them.
They turned out great! Caitlin's is on the left, Ashlee's is on the right.

Ward Halloween Party

Last night was our ward's Halloween Party. We had chili and lots of carnival games for the kids. It was a lot of fun!
They girls were so excited to get dressed up!
Ashlee is Dorothy, Molly ended up being Cinderella, and Caitlin is a 50's girl.

The greatest lady, from a different ward, came to do the face painting. She was amazing and the kids LOVED it! (Thanks Brittany!)

Costume try on

Today all the girls tried on their Halloween costumes, and we found out Molly DOES NOT want to be a clown.

She really does not, at all!
I'm glad we snapped a picture with her in it. And now we will find something in the dress-ups for her to be,

Actual Halloween

Halloween Day turned out to be so busy with school, school parties, I worked half of the day, a party at Chris' work right after school, trunk-or-treat and trick-or-treating.
Needless to say, we didn't get any very good pictures. So I'm glad a got a few before the ward party last week.

The day was FREEZING COLD. The wind was blowing so hard. So everything outside was freezing.
But, the girls still enjoyed themselves.
Before trunk-or-treating with Caitlin's friend, Camden.

Molly trying to get warm in the back of the van with her elephant friend, Crew, during the trunk-or-treating.
She loved carrying her pumpkin and getting treats in it. She would hold out her hand and get the candy in her hand and then put it into the pumpkin.

Halloween- take 1

Last night we had our ward Halloween party, so the girls dawned their costumes.
I told them that I would make their costumes this year, so I did.
At the first of the month they picked what they wanted and I got fabric and sewed and sewed and sewed and sewed, plus I did a little painting and glittering. I finished them last week, and I am happy with how they turned out! And, I had fun making them, although I don't want to make them every year.
Oh, and I didn't make Molly's. She had to wear the cute skunk that the other girls wore when they were 1.

Pumpkin Carving

We have gotten together with some friends to carve our pumpkins for the past 3 or 4 years, and we did it again last night.
This year you had to come with your pumpkins already gutted (great idea Jenn!) And we ended the night with a whole lot of good looking pumpkins!!!!
Ours is the one in the middle with the big nose.
(Thanks Brook and Jenn, it is a fun yearly tradition!)

Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween with WAY to much candy.  How did we end up with more candy than we started with?  Some is already stored away in the freezer for our future long road trips.

Caitlin=ballerina, Molly= Greek goddess, Ashlee=Belle
We dressed up Friday for our ward Halloween party.

Molly wore the witches hat one morning.  She is one cute witch!

Today was beautiful, but did cool off once the sun went down.  We did get a couple of pictures before Caitlin put her jacket on.

We did a ward trunk-or-treat at one of the parks.  It was fun and not to big.  The kids went around twice, which is probably how we ended up with so much candy!
The girls with some of their good friends.

A rare family picture!

At home Molly inched over and investigated the candy.  She was especially interested in the bag of Swedish Fish and the sucker.
She just held them and looked at them.  They never went into her mouth thanks to the paci.

FHE last night

Chris manned the bobbing for apples station at the ward party on Friday night, but we informed the girls they weren't allowed to participate.  We really didn't need to be sharing germs with the other 50 kids bobbing.
So we did our own last night for FHE.
Caitlin

Chris- he got his super fast.  I think his bristly beard stuck right into the apple :)

Molly just watched.  I think you need teeth to participate.

Ashlee

Me

Then we made caramel apples on extremely long sticks.
We had fun, maybe we will make this a yearly tradition.

Halloween

Ashlee and I were in Arizona last week, so our Halloween posting is super late.

The girls had fun playing with costumes prior to the big day.  I could barely belief Ashlee could get the skunk costume on, but she loved it.

Ashlee got to wear her costume Friday to the college to go trick-or-treating, and then they both got dressed up for the ward party on Saturday.  Caitlin is a fairy and Ashlee the same clown that her sister and dad were at age 3.

Ashlee and I left for Colorado Sunday afternoon because our flight to Arizona was early Monday morning.
Chris and Caitlin got dressed up Monday night and went trunk-or-treating at the church.
Caitlin with her friends at the trunk-or-treat (i took your picture, Jenn)

Meanwhile Ashlee and I had arrived in Arizona safely and were preparing for trick-or-treating there.
Ashlee carved a surprise-faced pumpkin with Grandma Berta.
We found a costume for her the dress-ups and she became a fairy princess.  She had fun trick-or-treating with her cousin, Cody.  She made sure that he got a piece of candy at each house.

pumpkin picking

This year we went to a pumpkin patch that was held by the hospital for employees.
It was just small affair with not too many pumpkins.
We went, picked out a pumpkin, ate a cookie, had some hot apple cider and left.
