I spy

Last night we played I Spy.
Playing any game is EXTREMELY difficult with a certain toddler around (as is trying to type this blog with her sitting on my lap)
We gave her the "easy" card and she felt like she was playing, it was perfect!

We each draw a card and say, "on your mark.....get set......GO!" before turning the card over and frantically looking for our object.
Molly said "GO" every time, it was super cute. So I recorded it :)

Simon Says

We were doing Simon Says for Ashlee's homework and discovered that Molly liked doing it to.
So we have played several times since then.

These Girls

I love the moments when these girls are being happy together and playing nicely.

Window washing

Last Saturday it was nice weather, and not raining, so we washed a few windows.
Molly would wipe and then lick the paper towel. I guess Windex tastes good?

And then she helpfully pushed her face unto the glass to make more of the smudge marks we were trying to wipe off. No glass is safe with a toddler in the house! My bedroom mirror is always full of little hand and mouth and nose prints. And I like them, so I don't wash them off very often!

Classic

We often have a movie night Friday or Saturday night. The girls LOVE it. Sometimes we get a redbox, sometimes we check one out from the library and sometimes we watch one of our own.
This weekend a checked "The Wizard of Oz" out from the library.
The girls had never seen it, and I thought it was about time they enjoy this classic!
They loved it. They would walk around the house singing the songs.
Ashlee was loud and proud singing "We're off to see the Lizard, the wonderful Lizard of Oz!!"
(Molly has figured out that her finger fits very nicely into her nose. No picking, just resting there.)

Marching

Caitlin and Ashlee taught Molly a new skill last Sunday.
They taught her how to march.
She really just steps with one foot and then kicks the other foot straight out. So cute.
And she also loves twirling round and round, but she's been doing that for several months now.

Raining- again

We have had very rainy weather for the past week or so.
We aren't having any flooding, like Colorado, but lots of rain every single day.
Yesterday it was raining a lot as we waited for Ashlee's bus to come.
She and Molly were happy walking around under the umbrella!

After the bus came then I put Molly in the stroller, under the stroller's rain guard, and went on a walk. It brought back so many memories of walking in the rain in Scotland and New York. I love it!!

First Day

Tuesday was the first day of school!

Ashlee's first day of KINDERGARTEN!!

Caitlin's first day of 2ND GRADE!!

They were both so excited, and both a little nervous.
Caitlin's nerves melted away when she got to the playground and saw all of her friends.
Ashlee was still a little nervous as she headed for her classroom with her teacher, but she told us she had a great day!

I took a picture after school, which is horrible, but Ashlee's face is to funny. It just shows her personality.

At home before we left for school. We didn't know how Molly would do with her sisters leaving, but so far there has been no crying. She seems to be handling it well.

We walked Ashlee to school the first day, but she rode the Kindergarten bus the 2nd day!
(in our district elementary starts at 8:40 and Kindergarten doesn't start until 9:30)

Ready for School

We are ready and excited to go back to school!
I put together a little back to school count down for Caitlin and Ashlee. We just counted down from 6, and each day had a little school related things (like an apple to eat, or packing their school supplies in their backpacks, or eating lunch with their lunch box).
They loved it.

For the past couple of years I have packed Caitlin's lunch the majority of the time, but Chris packs it from time to time and would put in a note for her. And she loved it.
So this year I printed out a whole bunch of lunch notes from the internet (because I just won't do it otherwise). Some are jokes, some just a note, and I can write a little something on the back if I so please.
Just a little something to let them know that I do think about them while they are at school.
I wanted a special note for the first day, so I did these.
(I got the idea from somewhere online, I can't think of these things myself.)

And tomorrow starts another year of learning....
