Texas trip- Part 2

The main reason for our Texas trip was to attend a reunion with my immediate family- the Bishop Family Reunion. David and Julie were in charge this year- and they did a great job!
And since it is such a long way down there, we stayed a few extra days with both David and his family and Katie and her family.

Sunday night the kids all got pajamas that Grandma made for them. The girls in our family outnumber the boys 6-2.

The house had a huge table that fit everyone around it (except Isaac and Lily who were in high chairs.

Monday we headed to the beach. It was a windy and overcast day, but so warm and so fun!
There was a ton of seaweed washed up on the shore, so you just walked over it until you got to the water.
And, David told me the Gulf of Mexico is brown because the current of the Mississippi River, as it empties into the Gulf, forces the water out and west so it all circles around. AKA, its brown from the Mississippi River.
Gail force winds kept us from putting up our beach tent.

We had a sandcastle making contest. Boys against girls. The boys went big and the girls had more detail.

We love to play games when we get together. In fact, we stay up way to late every night playing games!

Our house had a nice, big wrap around deck that the kids liked to play on and run on.

That night we took family pictures. We had a nice hair train going.

After the pictures the kids did a pinata. I'm pretty sure Caitlin was the only one who had to be blind folded. The joys of being the oldest!
