San Diego Twin Trip- Part 1

Years ago (like 11 or 12 years ago), Annie and I took our first annual twin trip to Washington D.C.
We had planned to make it a yearly event, but that didn't happen. This year was a busy/stressful year for both of us with Annie ending a job that she hated and Chris being gone on sabbatical. So we went on our 2nd ever twin trip. This time to San Diego. Our trip was Thursday, July 30th- Tuesday, August 4th. I flew and Annie drove, so she picked me up from the airport on Thursday and we went and did a session at the San Diego Temple. It is so beautiful.

Then we drove to the beach and just sat in the sand watching the waves and surfers for about an hour or so. After that we drove to the little Italy section of San Diego to check into our hotel. Most of our hotel and many of our activities were paid for by Annie's frequent flier miles.

Friday morning we got up early and headed to the USS Midway. It was incredible touring that ship, and made me realize I WOULD NOT want to spend months on end on a ship of any sort. (We dressed for site seeing/the beach that day, so we looked pretty silly!)

After the Midway, we took a fairy boat over to Coronado Island. We had planned on renting bikes, but that didn't work out, so we caught a free shuttle across the island to Hotel Del Coronado and spent some time on the beach and in the water jumping waves. So much fun!

After several hours at the beach, we hopped on the Trolley and took the tour all over San Diego. We ended the day getting off the trolley at the Ghiradelli Chocolate shop and walked back to our hotel while eating delicious ice cream. It was a busy, but fun day. And we were exhausted that night.
