Father's Day

I told Chris I was making a cute Father's Day dessert.
He jokingly said, "Does it have meat?"
Well it did............

..........kind of.

My attempt to make what I saw in the Family Fun magazine.

Happy Father's Day!

resurfaced

We have a little card table for the girls, but a very sharp ruler and other objects have resulted in a ruined table top, and a couple of ruined chairs. (we had already taken it apart, thats why the bottom is hanging down.)

But no more. The girls picked some fabric, and I refinished the table and 2 chairs for them. Hopefully the plastic protector will last longer.
Its hard to tell but the fabric has watermelon on it, very summery- though I won't be switching it out when summer end.

songs

The girls made crowns today at story time at the library. They were so excited to come home and show them to me.
And then we sang some songs for the camera......

Who's the Mom?

These girls play "mom and baby" all the time.

Then one will say "Mom", and I will say "What?", and they will say "no, you're not the mom, Ashlee (or Caitlin) is the mom." It all gets very confusing.

Yesterday Caitlin asked me what time I go to bed so that she could acurately "play" bedtime as the mom.
Here is the mom tucking the baby into bed.
I guess their little toy tubs are the perfect size for a bed for Ashlee and her Dordy (Georgy, as in Curious George).
This little girl is a riot, seriously. She is so funny. She keeps us smiling and laughing all the time.

Gone

I have removed some of the borders/wallpaper that the previous owner of our house placed.
I know, about time! We have lived here nearly 2 years.

There were happy chefs in the kitchen, now gone.

And the cats in the stairwell. How they ever lasted so long I don't know. I HATE CATS. But now they are gone and the stairwell looks very white.

Next project................new flooring or some painting. We will see what happens first.

Sporting new jammers

We got a package in the mail today. Hooray, hooray, we love the excitement. Caitlin and Ashlee received new pajamas from their Grandma and Grandpa Will (thanks!!!).

I think this is the first ever picture we have of the girls standing side by side.
Caitlin is actually picking Ashlee up of the ground, although it looks as though Ashlee's foot may be touching the floor- it's not. This is a great feat for the older sister :)

Splash Park

We made our first trip of the season to the Green River splash park today.

Excitingly, Caitlin loved it this year and actually got wet.

Ashlee had no interest in the water whatsoever. Chris tried to "encourage" her, but she wanted no part of that.

She was content to sit by mom and dad on the blanket, or play on the playground.

all the tools

We now have all the necessary equipment to go on a family bike ride.
Now we just have to wait for the wind to calm down a bit, because I am not willing to ride in 25-30mph winds.

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day we headed east to Colorado. We went with some friends, the Smith's, and stayed in Chris's parent's cabin. We had tons of fun, and soaked up every bit of sun and warmth we could because it was MUCH nicer than any weather we have seen at home yet this year.

We loaded up Friday morning, and came home Monday afternoon. We could all fit in the Smith's car, so we did- thanks for driving! It was a roomier ride on the way home when Chris figured out that 3 car seats did indeed fit in the back seat.

the cabin

we blew bubbles (Ashlee spilled and/or drank 3 of them)

had a squirt gun fight

played kiddie baseball

and watched some real baseball! Thanks to Dad Will for the hats and tickets!!!

The Rockies played the Dodgers and won! The kids loved singing "take me out to the ball game" best of all.

we saw some wildlife

we went on lots of walks.......

but sometimes we rode instead of walking

we attempted to fly a kite, emphasis on attempted (who bought that cheap kite anyway:)

we fished

I fished for 5 minutes and got the line tangled..................twice.
But at least I didn't throw the pole into the water..................this time.

Chris caught a fish on Saturday

than caught another one on Monday

we climbed "mount Maria"

we juggled

made nature pictures

and enjoyed our shadows.

We had a really fun time and came home exhausted.

And that is the longest post I have ever made and now I'm exhausted.
